One of Ajay's career-defining moments came with the film "Company" (2002), directed by Ram Gopal Varma, where he portrayed a gangster with remarkable depth and intensity. The role garnered widespread praise, earning him the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. This marked a turning point in his career, showcasing his ability to portray complex characters with nuance.

In addition to acting, Ajay ventured into film production with his company, Ajay Devgn FFilms, producing notable films like "Raju Chacha," "U Me Aur Hum," and "Shivaay." He also made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed drama "U Me Aur Hum" (2008), starring opposite his wife, actress Kajol.

His filmography boasts a diverse range of roles, including memorable characters in movies like "Gangaajal," "Omkara," "Singham," "Drishyam," and "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior," which became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
